I don't recall; I'll have to pay more attention in the future.... One thing you might notice: no shift boot. Scott said there was no evidence that a boot had ever been installed (no screw holes in the shifter porch). K

Tom, speaking about the lack of a shift boot, are you in touch with Stan to find out if he had installed one?
I met Stan back in 1996 at a Pontiac show in So Cal. I bought one of his shirts. Talked to him and I thought he was pretty nice but a no nonsense kinda guy. It would be nice if Jon (new owner) would let Stan make one pass at a drag strip in his old car.

Scott uses 2K urathane paints on his motors, similar to body paint. Not meant for a daily driver but made to look purdy........

Anyone who has 500 Large to spend on a car can pay for a new (correct) sign.

Yeah, I would have hung the cam tag from the rear view mirror at the very least.

Mike - I went back and looked at the auction photos and there was certainly no floor covering at all at that point.
I did notice the cloth door opening "lace" was present, which Scott cleaned and re-used. K

I would love to be able to scan that cam card. I am going to look at the car tonight, perhaps I will ask Scott if it feels right.

I found it interesting that the tags as found were attached to an 'incorrect' radio delete plate (it looked kind of homemade, maybe because the factory plates were not flat) now it has a 'correct' Tempest plate. Also I never saw a heater delete plate... it looks like an ashtray door. And the vin tag is painted white.
P.S. Multiple glaring errors in the Meadow Brook CONCOURS d'ELEGANCE OF AMERICA official sign... what's that saying 'Judge not lest ye be judged'? Last edited by TempestFugit; 07-27-2010 at 10:09 PM. |
