The first picture is correct for the 69 Bird and TA. The parts book and factory assembly manual are not correct as Matt said.

Well, both my parts book and assembly manual calls out 9798939 for the spacer. Are you saying that's not correct? Can you show me a picture of it?

Pretty good picture of it on a well documented original Ram Air IV car that had its complete original drive train

HFR- Yes both sources are incorrect. I thought it was an aftermarket piece when I disassemble my 69 400 firebird and almost threw it away. Turns out that is the correct OEM spacer for a 69 bird with power flex fan.

Fastassbird has shown the requested images.

If you want I can snap a picture of mine and post it too but it matches the ones already posted.

I'm not disputing the fact of what you're showing is not correct. I'm trying to dispute whether the assembly manual is incorrect or not. As far as I know, the spacer you keep showing does not have a casting number on it, so how do you know the manual is incorrect?

HFR- I know the manual is not correct because I bought a spacer with the 9798939 part number embossed on it and it is the traditional style not what it shown.

Thanks for that. Do you know if the '8939 and the '69 Firebird unit are the same length?
