Nothing more after 14-08?

what is the status on the car now? Has any work been done? what does it look like now?
Is the paint on? is the engine done? Does Rustie have the opportunity to change her name from "Rustie" into "Shiny" or "Blingmobile"???

I have all of the pieces (and some of them are still sitting at FAST Automotive which I still need to pay for an dpick up), but with three kids in soccer and one in football (American), I will need to get going on it again in November.

OK... finally got the doors completely stripped down and Rob and I took them up to Steve's Saturday and he sprayed them with primer and got some bondo on the one. He also patched the bottom corner of the one where the rust had eaten through.

Steve's doors were worse, so I also attached some of those pics...

Fenders are next....

Steve's actually working on the G/P? I'm impressed!

Rob's going to do the body on our cars at the same time. Saves time overall to spray things at the same time and do the body work at the same time. And since I know he has to do this work for Steve, I know I have a small chance of my car actually getting painted this year. It probably won't get running, because Rob still has his 70 to complete, but at least it'll be pretty by the end of this year.

DOn't have any pics, but Rob and Steve spent Friday and are back at it today working on the doors. Steve's one door had a lot of work to be done cutting in new pieces. They also cut the cross bars out of each of my doors to get rid of about 25 pounds of weight each. Today I believe they are supposed to get the driver's door on my car completed, including reworking the lower driver's door corner where it was rusted and had been banged up in a hit to the front fender. And they are going to finishe Steve's other door as well and get it in primer.

Rob was a tired puppy yesterday from all the work on Friday. I expect him to fall asleep half way into the Bengals game tonight...

Here are the two "befores" and the one "after"... used a much better stripper this time. Not as cheap..

Rob and Steve were working too...

Rob was blocking and sanding Steve's doors and Steve was replacing the u-joints in Rob's 70 GTO drive shaft.

The last one is Rob working on my driver's side door where the car had been hit at some point and crinkled the edge.

She makes us laugh when she sees literally 2 spots out of 4 panels that need a little piece welded in and freaks out over it! We joke about Steve's car already having a full spool of wire in it and we've only done the doors, fenders, hood and decklid. The sheet metal she has for her car is really nice, especially the doors. I'd love to have had those when I did mine 20 years ago!

Worked on the fenders last weekend, but forgot to take pictures. Got the outside completed. Next time it is the hand sanding of the underside. The real fun job.

You got a drive-train for that car yet? Is it going to be a cruiser or a racer?

If it's going to be a cruiser, I have a tired 400 short block that I could let go cheap. But it's a 75 YZ block with the thinner cast webbings.

I also have TH-400 from my goat that needs to go as well.

Fenders are nearly done! Got them in self-etching primer today! I'll post pics once I get on the other computer....

Arms and back are KILLING me now, but nothing a few glasses of pink happiness can't fix.
