Well if i can fix my tailgate i wont buy a new one. But sadly the pannel seems to be welded shut and i have no acces to a welder, does anyone have any ideas on how to check the problem out.

After you remove the interior panel there should be a panel or two or three that bolt onto the tailgate. If they have been welded chisel the weld with a hammer to get them off. I dont know why anyone would weld them shut. That may just be a tar type base used to prevent rust. If you tried posting back on the same subject you might get more input. So if you have another question find this topic and post on it.

Okay im kinda new to this forum thing and thanx for all the help you have been giving me. Um yeah It just looks like a weld to me and there is only one set of three bolts in the center plate. And i tried getting some Wd40 all up in the mechanism to break up a little of the rust but it didnt work

Try disconnecting the window from the mechanism so you can open the gate. It will be easier to work on like that. Wd40 is not that great try PB blaster or some other rust lubricant. Grease it up 2 3 times a day till it comes loose.
