1970 A/C Bracket???????
So I'm studying the 1970 GTO Judge on eBay for 200,000 (item #4610697927) which is listed an original survivor car. I noticed that it had the stamped steel A/C compressor bracket in place of the usual aluminum one. I have a 1970 and it has the same stamped steel bracket, which I always thought was wrong for the car becuase it was used from 71 on. Does anybody know if in fact this is correct that both were used (given the "original" judge on ebay)? If so was it a mid year change (my car was built in March/the ebay Judge in May)? Or maybe manual vs auto trans? The PY part number lookup list both the stamped steel and the aluminum as being used in 1970, but this rare judge is the only other example I've seen (besides my own) with the stamped steel bracket used in 1970. I would love to know more about this so I can defend having it because a couple of people at car shows told me it's supposed to be aluminum. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Paul

Paul, I've always heard that the factory used both in 1970 - I've seen pics of 70s that had both set-ups . . . .
