At the back of the engine, behind the distributer, there is a three or four diget code cast into the block. I will begin with a letter, followed by two or three numbers. This will be for the date of manufacture. at the front of the right (passenger) side cylinder bank there is a two letter code stamped into the block. It will be between the valve cover and the timing cover. This, with the date code from near the distributer, will tell what engine you have. Post those codes here and somebody will tell you what it is.
