selling a nice car on Tuesday or Wednesday at BJ is for real thrill seekers! I bet that car would have brought $10k more on the weekend.

I saw that auction also, right after they showed a 69 GTO going over the block. Two Pontiacs in a row on TV, must be a record.

The TA being a column shift was pretty rare, and looked like a great car. Well bought as you could not repeat that restoration for the hammer price.

Rick is right- thrill seekers early on. I know I'd be nervous.

We were in on the bidding but backed out. It hung under 30 for a long time. The car was nice and had some small issues like cracked paint on the nose and the scoop had the flapper cut out. One of the few that actually had correct wheels.
. "The car has 40,000 original miles. Title represents mileage exempt. Seller represents original miles and will provide a notarized, written affidavit to that effect".
Announcing this on the block didn't do the sale any justice. And even though he had PHS docs, the owners description didn't say anything about it.
Still, nice car and somebody got a hell of a deal.......

35k for that 70 auto is good money. Column shift does not do it any favors. That engine compartment does not look great. Looks like a nice driver or local show car. I'm actually suprised it got 35k. You cant compare this car to keiths blue car that was sold at Mecum in Oct. Now that car was a good deal.

The '71 Formula was overpriced. Originally a YS 400 that had been converted to 4spd. Am sure it cost a bit to to ship to AZ & stick it in the auction.. A few decent options but a mid 30's car?

Last thing, on the '71 Formula 400 the doofus engine detailing (complete with the 400 4bbl sticker) appears to have taken place well before the trip to the carnival in the desert.

Just got back from the auction and checked out all the 70-73s. I'm not completely up on these cars yet, but after seeing them first hand, it seems like they're bringing good money. I can't wait to start putting mine together.
