1974 vinyl top verification
I started the question on the introduction forum so its time to move over here. My very weathered '74 Trans am had a vinyl top when I bought it in 1995 and now decades later its time to finally get the car back on the road.
I posted the question whether this car had a factory top, and from member's answers it looks like that it isn't, and that's ok with me. Got this from Baron Von Zeppelin: -29 - 29 PNT is the lower and upper paint / trim codes So it was painted dark blue complete. Vinyl top car would read 29 - A or 29 - B for examples Factory vinyl top cars will always need some additional body work at the roof-to-quarter panel seams to get them smoothed out enough for decent looking repaint. I had a dark blue 74 firebird in the mid 80's with white vinyl top and interior. Removed the top and prepped it for a solid repaint. 2nd gear went out and I parked it before I got around to painting it, then eventually sold it.- I'll take as much information as I can get on this, if it was a stock vinyl top car I'll put it back on, if not its not going on.
