OK, I have requested a quote for 1 up to 10 wheels.

If anyone is interested in getting one, let me know. I could source these overseas, but I think the low quantity would be prohibitive.

Karch, how are you going to go about getting the pulleys to line up? Machine back the balancer for clearance? Use a custom crank pulley? I'd think a custom pulley would work, if you didn't have an a/c pulley down there.

Ollie, thanks, got the email. Nice job, looks easy enough.

No A/C pulley.

I can space out the other pulley's if need be, as that is easy to do. Not the preferred way, but then mine don't line up as much as I'd like right now anyway.

I have seen where some people bore out the trigger wheel and press or braze it on to the pulley. That is an option, but since there are various pulley sizes, it is very custom, and time consumuing.

Actually, easier than you think. If you get the right OD on the trigger wheel, you just need to bore the ID to about .005" smaller than the pulley, and heat up the wheel and it will have a nice interference fit when it cools.

Or, just braze it on if you get the ID slightly larger than the pulley, just make sure you get it on straight.

Hmm, yeah, that would work on the pulley, I guess. Definitely set it up on a lathe, though. Probably still have to have an adjustable pickup mount, to dial it in exactly to TDC. Interesting ideas, keeps the mind active. I like it.

YAHOOOO!!!!!!!!!
I did it, well almost anyway.
Set up a home page on AOL I up loaded the Instructions to convert a HEI distributor to a 7 pin module with photos using MS Publisher.
Now for the problem, the Photos did not up load. There is a blank square with the red X in it. I see an Exploer index file in My Docs. do I need to link this with the web page some how?

This is the link

I should have my 400 running in about 2 weeks with my MS2 v3.0. Just fitted the manifold tonight and almost have everything to finish plumbing up the fuel. I'm happy as a pig in poo with the progress! Can't wait for it to get it running

The tuning software will generate you a base fuel map on rough determined HP figures. It is suppose to errr on the rich side but with my wideband it should be no problem to 'auto tune' the fuel map.

im pleasantly surprised at the # of EFI converts. a mere 9-12 months or so ago, there were more nay sayers than positives. only a few of us were doin the ms thang back then.
but then i shouldnt be surprised from this group-after all, we all chose to stick with ponchos instead of switching to copyrighted belly buttons.
so many ms apps- i did my ms-1 for fuel only in '04. with the old style hc-08 motorola uP . i admit thru therapy(step 1)i am an electronics geek, so i bought the main and relay boards($80) and loaded it up myself. i havent upgraded because i dont feel the driveability improvement from the ignition implement or higher res(x10) pulse timing are worth the upgrade on a hobby car.
but i digress- i became an e-bay freak somewhere along the way and bought the 2 ford mustang 65mm throttle bodies for next to nothin', and a set of custom 60lb hi imp injectors from a venom supplier whose contract lapsed for $249. cant find him now(seemless frost). in tank sumped pump.
i cant say enough about the improvement in city driveability, in my 23 yrs of driving 11-13sec street DRIVEN pure ponchos- the learning curve is worth the occasional walks home- especially if you live on a small island with limited inclement weather. oh yeah; mileage from 7 to 12mpg- no light footin' either.

I'll chime in here, as I have done a multiport conversion, but not on a Pontiac. I did mine on an 88 Chrysler Conquest (if anyone knows what they are, lol), which required a huge amount of custom parts and fabbing on my part. I don't know if this counts as DIY, but I used an SDS system for mine, and was real happy with it. I never felt confident enough to build a MS, and SDS was the most cost effective for me. I had to do the dist lockup as well, and fab a crank trigger mount to work with the MSD box, but their system usues all GM sensors and such, so replacement parts are easy. Comes with it's own handy little computer for real time tuning, so no laptop needed. I thought it was great, and the car ran fantastic, for a 4 cyl. turbo that is. If I ever decided to go EFI on my TA, I'd use em again. Just my .02, but a great thread indeed. Really got me thinking.

what intake manfiold is under there?
some more pictures?
how's just off-idle response given so much tb surface area?

Hey Ollie, would I be able to grab a copy of the HEI distributor conversion too? I'm more curious than actually going to convert one! I'm maybe a day or 2 out from having my megasquirt conversion up and running!!

Definately will be having many beers tonight in pre-celebration!
