Congratulations to Scott Tiemann and team. An amazing accomplishment. Of the top ten Quickest in F.A.S.T, here is the line up. 1. BBC 9.45, 2. BBC 9.58, 3 HEMI 9.63, 4. BBC 9.66, 5.BBC 9.77, 6. 429 Ford 9.84, 7. HEMI 9.86, 8. HEMI 9.90, 9. Scott Tiemann 400 Pontiac 9.90.

The Pontiac is by far the smallest engine in the top 10 and therefore a major overachiever. Great job!!

Incredible performance by the FAST cars. I can only imagine the R&D that has gone into these cars. Isn't the Bird pushing close to 500" with a stroker crank?

I have no idea of engine size. I made the assumption it would be 406 Cu In. or so similar to NHRA stock and Super Stock basic rules. I may be completely wrong on that. (I should follow my own rule, NEVER assume). I just looked up the rules for the class. They allow HUGE engines! 560 CU in for all but Fords. They get the gift of 620 Cu in. So no idea of the size of Tiemann's Firebird. I doubt it's a 400. Sorry for my incorrect information.

F.A.S.T. drags has opened the rules up over the years, and is allow “approved” aftermarket blocks and heads, running a Pontiac they can likely be running a big bore aftermarket AI2 or MR1. The top bbc and hemi’s are running aftermarket heads and blocks with modified stock intakes and carbs for the model of engine.. The carb throttle plates have to be stock diameter and same type carb as stock.

The quickest cars are making over 700HP too the wheels, thru exhuast manifolds and a 2.5” exhaust.
