67 brake light stays on
The red illuminated "Brake " light in the dash of my '67 GTO stays on/will not go off. I checked the emergency brake. It is not engaged. Pulled up the release handle several times to make sure it was released. Checked the contacts on the emergency brake . Nothing going on there. A wire leads from there and goes up into the dash. Have not contorted myself into the footwell to look under the dash yet. Thought I'd inquire here on the board for an armchair diagnosis before I turn myself into a candidate for chiropractic treatment. Thanks!

Your brake distribution block bolted to the frame under the master cylinder has a terminal that grounds when there is unequal pressure between the front and rear lines. It may have got stuck. A quick check is to disconnect the wire from the block and see if the light goes out.

If it is that causing the light to stay on make sure you don't have a brake system problem.
