Default Parking Brake Pedal Assembly/Mechanism Questions

I yanked the parking brake mechanism from my 68 Lemans to swap out the cables. What a pain in the arse!

Anyway, on the parking brake pedal assembly, there's an eyelet that looks like it's bent; see attached picture.

Can someone please help out with two questions? First, is the eyelet indeed bent? Also, is the cable supposed to run through the eyelet?

Thanks,

Scott
