Default Manifold prices

I'm collecting parts to build up a 1968 block I have for more performance but streetable. I sourced locally a 4 barrel intake being sold with exhaust manifold but he wants big $. What is the market value for these parts? I see some on ebay with ridiculous asking prices

Yes, some of those online prices are way off the chart.
IMO That is the side effect of all the OHC 6 newfound exposure.

The stupid prices you see on Ebay and FB are from people who have no idea what they really have. They just hope to find someone more clueless that bites on it.

Dr. J try to find someone local who has an OHC car, they will often have spares.

If you are near the DFW area let me know and I will help you out.

Those shorty Headers appear to be configured like the Factory SPRINT cast iron, which perform quite well to 7500 rpm. The LONG Clifford Headers do well also but take up the compartment view. When i had the OHC-6 combo, i would have preferred those shorty headers (rather than the Long headers) along with aFactory-like Y-Pipe. Dual exhaust (was not and) might not be needed, yet an interesting eval with a likely positive outcome for duals. Factory single exhaust seemed quite up to the full range performance.

I heard long ago the Iron intake was best, but i dunno why the aluminum 4 BBL would be lesser, so if so then i bet the aluminum could be modified to play like the Iron. I recall an eval was done pre-1982 that described the Factory Iron got the 4BBl center port right despite appearance, and the Aluminum manifold did not copy, and suffered (i dunno how.).

I think the 1-2 & 5-6 runners were deemed okay, yet how would an eval know? EGTs?
