Has anyone done a 68 GTO Ram Air I roll call or registry? Any interest in one?

I could set something up, but the problem is the people owning them.

What is the problem with the owners? I just thought it would be a good way to share information with other owners. The Ram Air II roll call is what I had in mind but for the Ram Air I cars.

With 808 of them being built there should still be a bunch around - I've owned 2 of them - 1 each auto/stick.

68's have long been looked down upon by the 69/70 owners as the red headed step child.

My 68 Ram Air I convertible is awaiting restoration. It is Solar Red, white top, parchment interior, 4 speed, tach and rally gauges, poverty caps. One of only 92 Ram Air I and II convertible 4-speed cars built in 68. It was sold from Union Park Pontiac.

Really? My mom bought her wagon there when I was a kid. Trying to jog my memory if I knew of any red ragtops, but I only recall a maroon one.

Anyway, here's a related RAI question: Why would Pontiac offer 3.90s for the Firebird but restrict the GTO to 4.33s?

Here's a picture of Gary Cave's 68 ram air I convertible. Burgundy, parchment interior, white top, automatic, hideaways, hood tach, ps, pdb, wood wheel and a bunch of other options I forgot about. He's restoring it now.

Thanks for adding it to the list! Looks like it will be a beautiful car when it's restored.

I think it was the other way around?

The Birds were restricted to 3.90 gears while the GTO's got the 4.33.

The RA I & II made their power at High RPM, and GM (Pontiac) probably didn't want the Firebird to show more power than the GTO?
(like the carb limiter)

All conjecture on my part.
