Default Just bought a 1974 GTO Hatch for $300 Help?

Hey guys need a little help with the Value of this vehicle. I am going to re-sell to help finance my honeymoon.
Will this car be worth more as is? or parted?

A little info:
Ventura custom GTO.
Hatchback
350 4bbl dual ex. (original engine GONE)
Vanice plant.
Original shape.
gulfmist aqua metalic.
White interior bucket seats.

Heres some pics when i first bought it and moved it across the street, will get better pics soon. Bought with no title, just bill of sale. Nothing is perfect except the door panels and the hood. for the most part. No shaker. GTO grills fell apart from sun. Has 2 350 TPI vet engines that came with it (are now probly shot)
What do you guys think? Part or sell as is? value?

Part it, the rims cleaned up should get you your money back.

If you take the parts & pieces off the two motors, clean them up and sell them piece meal, you could do very well - even if the motors themselves are shot.

You can sell a ton of parts of that car for nuisance money - $10-$20 and it's easier for somebody to buy it from you than to go looking for it.

Body looks great; a solid CA car will fetch $$$ on Ebay to someone in the rust belt. Any old car in my neck of the woods unless well preserved is rusted up to its doorhandles. Of course, Id sell the Chebby motors seperately as boat anchors -

Hate to see any real GTO be parted. Very nice color/body style/trans combo. Probably the nicest combo I have ever seen on a 74. It would be a shame to see it get cut up.

Yea nice color combo. get rid of the junk from the back of it and clean it up. It looks good except for those wheels look ugly on it.

I wonder why it has a P R N D L2 L1 indicator on the dash?
Somebody change the cluster, or could this be an A/T car originally?

edit: I guess it is an A/T. The first interior pics, the shifter looked like a factory manual.

It is an auto car, when you move the floor shifter the dash indicator moves.
Pretty slick.

Only way to know if it is a real 74 GTO is to get PHS or find the build sheet. the door panel emblems and the hood are not enough.
if it is real, you will have a better chance of selling it for a decent price.

Steve,
I asked this question in the For Sale thread, 5th digit is a B, which SHOULD make it a real GTO. There is a thread on this if you search. Contrary to a popular book out there that lists an N as the engine code. An M is a 350 2bBL.

Build sheet is gone, i figure the chances of having a B code ventura with all GTO parts seems far fetched. For this reason i have not felt a need for PHS.

Rear sway bar is another probable indicator, but was offered as options on Sprint, maybe others but haven't seen too many with rear sway bars outside of GTOs. However, ordering PHS is only sure way as already stated.

Not sure how hard it would be to get a title but that might generate more interest & $$$ in it also.
