Default 67 GTO fuel pump have 5/16" inlet?????

I received two fuel pumps ordered for a 67 GTO and both came with a 5/16" inlet. Is this right??? I assumed they would have a 3/8". Trying to use the customers pre-bent "factory" style fuel line from carb to pump or I would just put an aftermarket pump on it. Why would they make it with a 5/16" inlet and 3/8" outlet? Doesn't make sense to me. BTW, it's a factory A/C car also so I assume the pump should have a vapor return line. Thanks.

Factory fuel line from tank to pump is 5/16" and from pump to carb is 3/8 so it sounds like you have the right pump.

Of course we have modified the pickup in the tank on our 67 race car but I would have sworn that it was 3/8" before. Oh well...

Actually, the pickup in the tank is 3/8", at least on my car it is, but the line from there to the pump is 5/16".

Depending on how early the car was built, the return line may have come from the filter (GF-98) rather than from the pump.

I just looked at a sending unit I bought for my '66 GTO from Ames many years back.I bought it because it had a 3/8 outlet instead of 5/16.I didn't get to measure it but the inlet/outlet is the same size,it looks bigger than stock.I will measure it soon.

1967 - 3/8"
1966 - 5/16"

The return line is not on the pump. A/C cars use a filter with a return nipple on it. This would go into your return line.

I measured the inlet and outlet and they are both 3/8.
