Default 66 tri power manifold.

Is that thumb shaped raised area behind the thermostat housing on a

66 Tri power intake manifold solid cast iron ?

Thinking about tapping it and using it as a mounting point.

Thanks.

I just checked one of my 66 tri power factory intakes from the inside coolant passage and there is no indention, so I would say drill away! For grins..... I also looked at the aftermarket aluminum tri power intake I have and it is solid also.

The '65 has that raised boss, also. There must have been an idea for use for A/C brace or other option never used.

Here are both '65 and '66 setups showing the boss.
