Default Correct color for dome light base for 65 GTO?

I just replaced the headliner and I would like to clean up the dome light....

The dome light base was flash chromed.

Thanks - I knew the old one I had didn’t look correct as it was painted silver....

If you wish to have the original replayed, I highly recommend Vacuum-Ornametal. I think their work is second to none.

I sent my dash to them last week after a recommendation from Jim Mott who told me that who he uses.
