1965 Reef Turquoise pinstripe colors.
White Black Oftentimes the interior color dictates the pinstripe color. Here is a Reef Turquoise with the Black stripe.

Another example; My friend Dons '65 still wearing all factory paint with Black stripe.
I think I've seen one RT '65 with white stripe and IMO it didn't look right at all. I do not know if it was as built.

I have been doing hand painted pinstriping as a living for 35yrs. and have done quite a few 65, 66 ,67 GTOs. A majority of the time you want to use the interior color, such as black or white as the guide. White interior white stripes, black interior black stripes. If the interior color matches the exterior, say black or white, use a red stripe. Blues or aquas can go with a white or black stripe.

i have seen rolls of tape with double lines, 65 should be single. have weighed in on using tape or having a line hand painted, just curious what the cost is for hand painting. my interior is met. red, would the hand painted lines be red or met. red? the Lemans is firemist metallic charcoal.

Thanks for the input guys. I should have mentioned the interior color is turquoise. Maybe I should go with something to match the interior, but I'm leaning toward white. I was quoted $100 per side for a pinstripe Friday. These guys are getting hard to find unless I'm looking in all the wrong places. Seems everything today is vinyl, ugh.

I own a body shop and once in a while a car will come in with painted pinstripes and we have NO ONE to call to replace the painted stripe. I have owned the shop for 28 years and we had 4 local guys that we could call back in the day. So now we have to replace it with a vinyl stripe. If the vinyl stripe is not close to the color of the painted stripe we then have to vinyl stripe the whole side right over the painted stripe. I'm doing a concourse restoration on my 65 black car with white interior. I plan on doing the stripe in white but will need to go out of the county or maybe even out of state to find a perfect striper. |
