1970 Trans am Vent Tube Color Question
Hi, Would anybody happen to know the correct color for the vent tube going from the air cleaner to the valve cover? Ames sells the repop, but it is bare steel.
Part # FN735P. Any help is appreciated. My original looks like black zinc. Thanks Jon |

So if I order the one from Ames, all I would need to do is have it plated with clear zinc?
Has anyone on the forum used this part? If so, any fit problems? |

I would clear coat with semi gloss 2x clear.
I use Ames tubes and they fit fine, but haven't ordered the Trans Am tubes.

Why semi gloss? , because the clear Zinc only looked Shinny for a few weeks.

If the original was plated, then have the repro plated. Clear coated steel looks like steel with a clear coat.

Thanks for the response, I have seen both black and bare steel on these tubes. Trying to decide on the right appearance.

Never were black from factory, and these were installed at the factory, not the engine shop.
