Camper forums
The recent topic about a camper purchase leads me to ask a question. For the past few years I've been considering a bumper pull camper in the 28-30 ft. range. Is there a good resource website that would be helpful in deciding construction (aluminum vs. fiberglass sides), options, etc.?

Like you, my wife and I were in the market for a travel trailer. Spent about 2 years looking for the right one. I used the following forums as well as others to help us decide. Although they're specific to Escape and Airstreams there's lots of good information in regards to buying the right one.
Currently, now is a terrible time to buy a trailer or any RV. People are buying RVs to get away and dealers are getting MSRP or at most 5% discounts. No inventory, slow production and a sellers market, all due to Covid. If you can wait a few years the RV market is predicted to collapse once people figure out they don't want the payments, storage costs or upkeep. When I bought my Airstream last February just before the Covid shutdown, the dealer had over 25 units on the lot and I received a 20% discount off MSRP with very little haggling. https://www.escapeforum.org https://www.airforums.com

giddygoat, thanks for that link. I'm a member of that site and familiar with that section. I own an Expedition, an Expedition EL, and an Excursion.
OG68, I realize my timing is late and I have told my wife that waiting this out should be best. Not knowing what was about to happen, I wish I had pulled the trigger around January, but didn't. I'm seeing that dealers and private sellers in my region are getting premium prices, which is good for them. I don't have to buy right now but feel it's a good time to further educate myself before making that leap. |

Most RV manufacturers are experiencing a parts shortage. They could sell every one made, and then some. Expect limited availability on dealer lots for a few more months.

RV Dealer not too far up the road from me only has 2 Campers on his lot.
Have been less than 5 there at any time since around April/May. I thought it was going/gone out of business. Used to always be 25-35 there all the time. |

We have been looking at Forest River and Grand Design. We really like the build of the Grand Design Imagine.

IMHO, Grand Design is one of the better ones made. Which Forest River are you looking at?

I just bought my 2nd Forest River Rockwood Roo (23SS Hybrid). They are excellent quality trailers.

Arctic Fox is considered as good as Grand Design. (they both have a shared heritage) Both are from independent manufacturers and built in Eastern Oregon.
https://campaddict.com/best-rv-brand...ravel-trailers There are four major RV Companies that build 80% of the RVs. https://campaddict.com/rv-manufactur...ns-what-brands

Rockwoods are built in Millersburg IN. Lots of Amish "craftsman" employed there.

Currently pulling around a 2018 Grand Design 2150RB. Has been a good trailer. I’m a fan of the construction and fit and finish inside. Customer service has been very good so far. I think this says a lot about a company that sticks around after a sale. Dealers on the other hand not so much. Lol

That RV Dealer up the road had been there for at least 25+ years that i know of - as of a month ago the lot is empty and a BIG For Sale sign posted. Another CoVid related death for the books |

The local ones are slowly replenishing their inventory. Very few backorders at the RV shops.

We has a 23' Airstream, then a 27' Airstrem. Nowadays we dannot afford such. Like buying a survivor GTO snymore.
We got a restored 1959 Stirling Corvette "canned ham" for $5k, and that will have to do. |
