Default Who makes the best aluminum radiator?

Looking for a good quality radiator for my 66 GTO and with options for electric fans. Looking for best quality, not some cheap model that will be problems later down the road. Thanks.

I went with a Mark 7 and I can say I am throughly impressed with how well it cools. I can hot lap my car, and the temperature gauge won't budge at all. With a clutch fan it cools my fairly worked over 400 with AC in the Houston summers great.

Here are the most common retailers that people use when it comes to a higher end radiator here...

http://www.rodneyred.com/product.html

http://www.mark7radiators.com/

http://www.alumitechreproductions.com/

I dont think you can go wrong with any of them.....

I chose Alumitech.....

I can post pictures if you like later this week. I painted it black so it looks like a stock.

We have experience with Griffin and Be Cool. Griffin is glued together and when it starts to leak, it's junk....can't be fixed. We switched to Be Cool. It's fully welded....terrific quality....and has lasted for years w/o any problems.

Great service, great product, and Don Kyte (owner) is top notch!

Another vote for Alumitech. I also painted the tanks black to have a more factory like appearance.

I looked @ Alumitech's website... They list radiators thru '71 and then '72 & up. I assume that's a typo?

I went with a Mark 7, they anodized it black for me (inside and out). I also looked at Be Cool, they have a nice setup with integral electric fans. Make sure you talk with people about your setup, Be Cool would not stand behind their radiator (without their $600 electric fans) for my application because I have over 500 hp. They would not 'guarantee' it would cool with a factory shroud and clutch fan. Mark 7 has tested their radiator to 800 hp on the street without problems in a car like mine. I also spoke to Rodney Red, they seemed pretty good, but would not supply a black radiator. I was nervous about painting aluminum, that is why I went with the anodizing.

Understand, none of these options are cheap. For my 72 Lemans, I had about $1000 in my radiator after anodizing and shipping. The Be Cool setup, in black with the fans, was about $1400.

Let me know if you want a picture, it is pretty nice.

Mike
