Holley HP EFI, 301 distributor fit reg block?
Hi everyone,
I decided to buy the newer Holley HP efi system to replace my old projection 4d for the self tuning capabilities and wideband O2. Since this system also controls spark I was wondering if a 301 ESC HEI distributor will fit into my 428 or do I have to swap something into a standard hei? I pulled one of these distributors a long time ago from a junkyard car and now it seems I finally have a use for it perhaps Anyone have any experience with this system with any advice? Thanks! Bob

The distributor will fit your 428 block no problem and will not require any king of part changes. As for the electronics being able to manage an EFI is another question.0

Thanks, that's good to know. I didn't think they were a drop in when I pulled it, just figured I could take the internals out and modify a different HEI.
Looks like I just have to go through this distributor and swap over my BOP gear.

There is a wide band upgrade for the older system, but not as "self learning" the new one.

I was really just interested in the self learning aspect of these newer kits, especially since I will be firing a new engine up with it. I really didn't like the idea of trying to dial in new parameters in the EFI while at the same time worrying about the rings breaking in properly and what not. From reviews it seems to work really well, I hope it works that way for me.
