Looks like a load of malarkey. Those are Pep Boys scoops on the hood. Car appears to be a base model Firebird.

Well I finally got by the see this car in person. Initially I thought it to be a homemade car also but after seeing this car AND the documentation I have come to the conclusion that it is real, one of 5, that was built to try to drive interest in dealers to have a special run of these cars. As you can see from the letter from PMD, it never came to fruition.

So the big question; it it worth saving it. What does anyone think it's worth?

I’m thinking somewhere between “free” and “scrap value”. Looks to have been a neat car at one time but looks like a fools errand to try and restore if you like having money.

I have a soft spot for third gens and to me for the right price it would be worthwhile project. I doubt you will ever see a return on the resto cost (but then again who does anyway?) Of the thirds I like that front end treatment the least, but from what I understand that part alone could be worth the cost of admission. Not sure what all of the hype is about on the car, and highly doubt it adds any value, but it would make an interesting finished vehicle just because.
