Recently obtained a posi carrier from a full size Pontiac. This unit is a 12 bolt ring gear with, 30 spline axles. However it used bolt in axles rather than c-clips, and it only has 2 springs on the clutch pack. It is a 2 series carrier equipped with a 2.93 (14:41) gear set. It has "arma steel" stamped in the carrier. I believe the number was ED 30153 (I'll have to verify that)
Can anyone provide any further info on this? I'm curious if it will interchange with other 12 bolt carriers in an A-body housing with c-clips.
Thanx in advance,

Might post the part number of the edge of the ring gear & the pinion & can then can ID the posi for you. I'm betting either '65-70 Buick 9 3/8" or '65-70 big Pontiac. Not having 4 preload springs is a tip. Also bet the carrier is 31 spline, not 30 spline.

Also have 30 spline 12 bolt car posi carriers & may be interested in a trade.

You win that bet. (hate when I run out of toes) 31 spline axles. Number on ring gear= 4114 GM 367 HQZ number on pinion = 4114 GM 367 LDD.
Did find some further info from Randy Allens recent post.

I was actually looking for a 8.2 Cone type for my 68 tempest when I stumbled across this, thought I would use it as a spare for my 12 bolt (obviously not)
I appreciate the response.

Blowd,
The carrier is '65-70 big Pontiac mid ratio. Had to consult my cheat sheet on the wall Also forgot that 9 3/8 Buick had no 2.93 gear set...DOLP (I'm losing it)
