Thanks John for the question. I was not sure about that deal either. Only E-Heads, E-Heads vs CV heads, etc.

Tom V.

PS Gaby's hands were %5%hit for a good while now so he would have to respond on if he actually did the porting.

I believe both were with E heads.

I thought he scrapped the e heads and went with the cv heads hence my question???? Was the cam right for the new top end since it was the old short block?

"This motor made 920 hp four years ago." I could be wrong John, but I don't think he was running the cv's 4 years ago.

Fairly certain the cv's have nothing to do with the 2 dyno numbers mentioned. Think it was comparable tests with eheads before and after.

The 920hp was with his e head wide ports. the 860 hp was with same shortblock with gaby e head upgrade (same e heads just worked over by gaby ), gaby intake and carbs is what i understand to be the truth. if you read his post again he explains it fairly well i thought. maybe he will post and clarify as its best to come from him.

Dick had E's on his car in 2011, and his post says Gaby did Eheads for him - so Ehead, Ehead.

And no EHTTFMF is not race or technical.

Also thought the name calling, back stabbing, etc was not allowed.

But I guess if your an ECM fan it is OK.

I really thought when you came on this board it would really help the racers out.
Along with some of the other people that have came along also like Chad S. and others it was starting to get good.

But if we wanted a 'YB' type board we could always go there.

That is the main reason I don't go there is too much blowing and posturing and no real substance.

Guess it's time to find something else also.

You are the worst MFr here on that. You must have directly insulted my intelligence 10 frickin times in the rambling thread.

I predict my car will get used at a few different events on the bucket list.
Wondering if I have the balls to try a 1/2 or 1 mile race.

So let me get this straight -- you have an Engine that made 920 hp -- you get you heads modified to replicate the same program that had made at or near 1000 hp and you can -- as your own engine builder -- only get 860 hp out of the deal -- Do you see where the problem lies with pointing fingers at " the other guy " ???

I know there are two sides two every story - and communication errors happen -- its how there addressed that is the defining point.

What Im saying is -- just like ANY engine -- the combo has to be right to make it produce, How many cams do you think Comp cams sells and in one engine it makes a 100 hp more than another -- same cam - different combination. We see it stated all the time here and most live by that creedo - what may be a good port, good cam , good head ect.ect for one guy may not work for another guy if his combination is different or wrong to maximize it. Point is if the heads worked on a number of other cars and applications but they didnt on yours just maybe its not the heads, Im not trying to take a shot at you but im trying to explain the logic behind my statement.
