The Fullsize 2d Sedan was last produced in 1968. I've seen 2 for sale on the web in the last year. They're kinda ugly, but maybe if they had performance options with the classic sleeper look, you could convince yourself that they're not so ugly. 67 and older seem to be more appealing. I have a '65 undergoing restoration.

I've always liked the two door sedans up through '64, as they just looked different from the hardtop rooflines, and are much harder to come across.

The '65-'66 hardtop rooflines are so pretty, that the sedan roofline, to me, looks like chit. I saw a nice '65 in a U-Pull it yard a few years back; nice white one with a blue interior. However, from any angle I looked it it, I couldn't make myself find it even remotely attractive with that clunky roofline.

The '67 and '68 sedans are so few and far between, they're hardly worth mentioning.

I've looked for a driver's side door for my '68, and have posted want ads here and over on Classical Pontiac, for about 4 years, without success. So, out of 5200 made that year, it seems to tell me something about how few there are remaining.

I saw a nice '68 for sale on eBay last month, but it didn't get bid past 800 bucks.

There is a '68 GP near me, which is in pretty good shape. It is at a body shop & was being prepped for paint when the owner went to jail for an extended stay. The car can be had pretty cheap (6-800) but no title without going through the repairman's/abandoned car routine. I am interested in the car for an engine, tranny & wheels but have no interest in the body & would rather not drag another onto my property without knowing it had an ultimate destination. LMK if you are interested & I will go talk to the guy.

Anyone have any pictures of 62-62 sedan post cars? Were there any made in '61?

As with the smaller A-bodys, were the sedans lighter weight than the hardtop cars?

I think they look real cool.

Yup, they made them in 1961. They called them 'batwing' cars, because of the roof overhang above the rear window. They aren't nearly as graceful as the hardtop (or 'bubbletop') cars, but they have a tough look about them. They were lighter than the hardtops, by 100 or 200 pounds I think.

Nice pic. I like the style of the '62 sedan post... on that car, i think the back wraparound window and thin pillars look nice.

On the '61, i'll just say i much prefer the bubbletop. The wing overhang just doesn't do it for me.

I now remember seeing a few batwings on the net and in magazines. thanks.

'61 was definately a good year. my two probably most favorite all time big pontiacs are from '61, the bubbletop cat and the wagon. '62 is a close second for me.

This car just came up on ebay. I hope it brings a good price. The post cars are kind of hit or miss as far as desireability.

What's that P O N T I A C below the 'Catalina' emblem on the front fender? Is that correct? It looks kinda out of place to me.
