Yeah that's the classic syncro deal. The upgrade fixes it. Used to be about a $400 charge but I'd assume that's no longer listed on the website because the TKX already now comes with the better syncro setup so there is no need.

The TKO can and does shift like butter with the syncro modifications. Just as good as any other trans. I had the shift rail mechanism modified as well on mine which makes the 2-3 shift effortless.

I don't know if that is already done on the new TKX or not.

Thanks for posts info about the TKO Formulajones. Got me thinking about mine.

TKOs don't use gear 'oil', and if you use oil, it can cause shift quality issues.

Adjustment is critical.

Blue = excess heat, from not fully engaging, or riding/slipping the clutch.

Pretty sure American does minor changes to all TKO before they go out the door, with exception of the TKX.

Base TKOs I do not believe have had the 'issue' addressed, but haven't looked in a while. It's technically not an 'issue' by Tremec's standards.
