Other than a very good 60 foot time there is nothing on that time slip that tells me anything else. Based on a time slip from 2019 that I have. He was out of the run before 330 feet.

I think high fuel prices kept many at home. I did the best I can with this car. I hope to have my new car finished for next year.

I think some of the people who travel a great distance to come to Norwalk stayed home this year. Gas prices had to be a factor but diesel prices were likely more of an issue. In Ohio, the average price for diesel last year was $3.85 a gallon. This year, $5.39. That's a big increase for RV's and other diesel trucks that haul people and race cars long distance to Norwalk. Also, for people who just come to hang out and fly in for the weekend, air fares have skyrocketed and the hassle of getting a flight that actually flies is tough. Cost of food and lodging is also off the hook. I think the attendance was off 15% of so from last year. The really fast Pontiac powered car field was thin this year. The cost of running a fast car is much, much higher than it was 3 years ago. Every part needed for the car is up 25-50% as well.

Could it have been a black one?

Was it this car?

Here is Cygan's slip on 1st qualifying pass:

Steve, my pic of the block was stamped RCSD, which is for Raised Cam tunnel and Standard Deck?

(Jeff said it was the raised cam bore with 60mm bore )

Just to add. Had a conversation with Arnie, autographed t shirt. He always asked what I'm driving. This time I said my GMC. No Pontiac he said shame on you. Then I said I'm still grieving the loss of my wife. Just then I realized I had always brought a SuperDuty to Norwalk except the first year. Then talked to Dean. We always talk Pontiacs, music. The one subject we got on 'would Arnie do it all over again?' 'Less than a heartbeat!' Dean basically said.

Default 60 ft time slip

That time slip is not Jeffs dragster. It is my new car a 68 firebird that was on the track for the first time. We were just doing test hits and did not attempt a full pass.

Thanks for the correction!
Jeff did not have his dragster there. (nor did Mark have his car there, or Kevin's dragster)

I was very surprised they did not have enough body cars to fill the Q16.
Street had more cars than Pro had! (154 what I heard one time)

Central Illinois guys did some good but couldn't make the big win.
(Probird got down to 3 on Sunday)

Why don't you tell us a little more about the car and engine combination. That is a very good 60 foot time.

So that .89 was in a door car? That is very impressive! What's the combo?
