Thank you! Pics are very helpful. Looks like, for whatever reason, a previous owner needed a bigger hole on the passenger side. I also now know where the courtesy lamp goes on an A/C car .

I'm not sure if you knew but 8-track equipped cars get two courtesy lamps. The driver's side is the existing one relocated and the passenger side is a flat looking fixture (391545). The lamps' harness 6295743 plugs into where the existing courtesy lamp plugs into. Lectric Limited has one (40504 GTO courtesy lamp harness) if you need it.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that. Wonder what other unknowns are in the assembly manual. I'll have to make another pass through it.
