The back seat is the same for 64-67 GTO/Lemans & Chevelles, Hard tops & Sedans are the same. The Correct Back seat will run the "full width" of the car and touch the door panels on each side. Quick measure check is ~57-3/8" measured at the bottom of the lower cushion/leacing edge) and ~55-1/2" measured at the top of the upper frame (measuring the solid frame of each in these locations, not the spring assemblies)

* 4 door back seats are different (rounded corners on the bottom cushion)
* Most Buick & Olds A-Bodies back seats are narrower (~52-1/2" Measured at bottom front of lower cushion), and use "fancy" thick armrests as spacers on each side between the seat and the side panels
* Base model Buick (Special) & Olds (F85) do use the same "full width" rear seat, but those are getting pretty rare to find
* Convertibles are even narrower than the Buick/Olds back seats
* 68-69 Back seats are different
* 70-72 back seats are different

=============================================
64-67 Back Seat Upper Cushion Dimensions:

Upper "Spring assembly" dims:
Bottom width: 57-1/8"
Top width: 55"
Sides height: 21-3/4"
Side height (w/o pinch at bottom corner): 21"

Upper "FRAME" (the rigid steel part) Dims:
Bottom width: 57-1/4"
Top width: 55-1/2"
Sides: 22-1/2"

64-67 Rear Seat Lower cushion Dims:

Lower "Spring assembly":
Front width: 56-5/8"
Back width: 57-3/8"
Sides: 19-1/2"

Lower "Rigid Frame" Dims:
Front width: 57-3/8"
Back width: 57-7/8"
sides: 17-1/2"

Such very helpful info (as always) from rambow!

To clarify, by "sedans", you mean 2-door post coupes, correct? Only reason I bring this up is because some people who are less familiar with the nomenclature may think that "sedan" always means 4 doors and get confused.

Default '66 Vs '67 Rear Bottom hold down...

...differ in how they lock-in.
The overall dimensions are good but the '67 rea seat bottom will not properly lock in/down as it should.
1st 2 pics '66 & 2nd 2 '67.

You are correct, the bracket on the floor is different 67 vs 64-66- however the seat frames themselves were still the same and will interchange 64-67.

If you look closely at your two pics of the 2 style floor brackets, pay special attention to where the rear step in the floor pan is.
Its in the same place in relation to the "locked" position of both style hooks that hold the rear seat cushion in place.

Whoops. yes... Sedan = 2 door post, but could also mean 4 door post.
usually specified as 2-door sedan or 4-door sedan
