Default 2005 Buick LeSabre Hood Repair?

I have a 2005 Buick LeSabre that has a decent sized dent in the hood. I am trying to fix this as cheap as possible. I can't do much to straighten it as it has an inner and an outer layer. Since this car is nothing more than transportation to me, I originally planned to mud it and be done. But, it occurs to me that since the hood is jarred somewhat upon closing and since it also seems like it may flex slightly, will the bondo adhere well enough to withstand this? Or am I stuck paying the obscene amount they want for a hood locally(between 200-300, whereas I found one the correct color for $50 at a salvage yard in Texas)?
