Default Vintage Sun Engine Analyzer and Snap-On A/C Recovery machines

More results from my garage cleaning binge:

Two vintage (circa late 1970s and early 1980s) commercial A/C R-12 recovery units and a early 1980's Sun Performance Analyzer Model 1115. All three units include their original operating manuals.

1) Snap-On Model ACT 3000 R-12 A/C recovery system. Includes hoses, recovery tank (empty) and the operating manual. Unknown working condition. Very low hours on the meter - only used for 33 hours by the original mechanic before it was retired. $100

2) Auto Air Service Center Model 01016 A/C R-12 recovery system. Includes hoses, recovery tanks (empty) and the operating manual. Unknown working condition. $100

3) Sun Performance Analyzer Model 1115 with all manuals and attachments including timing light and emissions hoses. Everything but the exhaust emissions tester seemed to work the last time I used it which was several years ago. The exhaust emissions system needs the internal hoses replaced due to dry rottting. It was quite a lot of fun to play with, though. I was originally trained on this model monstrosity back in 1980 at Denver Auto and Diesel College. It even has the optional attachments to work on the new-fangled GM HEI system (which kind of dates this contraption to around the early 1980's or so. Has NJ inspection stickers from early 1980's. It is BIG: 6'2" tall and 3'3" wide. $100

Way too big to ship so local pickup in central NJ would be the only way to get them. (hence the low prices)

Yes it does! The only thing that doesn't work is the exhaust analyzer function since it uses a lot of what appeared to be latex or plastic tubing internally that dry rotted over the years. The oscilloscope worked well the last time I played with it, though I have forgotten what all the various patterns mean after all these years. Luckily all the original manuals have that info in them and go with the unit.

I used a very similar model 40 years ago. Two questions: Do you have the cable end for the HEI distributors? Also what part of NJ do you live in? I have to figure if the drive is worth it.

Yes, I have the adapter for the HEI. It's the white plastic rectangle pictured below the "SUN" labeled silver induction clamp. It takes the place of that clamp on HEI cars.

I actually tested it out on my HEI equipped '75 455 Firebird a while back. It was fun to watch the wavy lines on the screen.

I'm in the middle of Jersey, around Bridgewater, close to where I-287 and I-78 meet.

Thanks for the info. I would like the machine but it is just too far away. Good luck.

I had one but it took up space; infrequent use. Ignition scope works nicely to find bad plugs/wires. Nowadays I use a standard oscilloscope.
