Default Old tune stuff.

Any of you older guys here like me still have a color tune plug and on occasion use it just for S & giggles?

Considered buying one; but never pulled the trigger. Not horribly expensive, but a person will need extra plug-thread adapters (Long-reach 14mm, 12 and 10 mm, etc. depending on application.) But I don't see that it's any better than a vacuum gauge at idle, and I don't think it'll stand up to WFO operation. Therefore, limited usefulness.

Yes, it’s only useful at idle rpm or slightly

It always amazed me how the color of the burn would change with the fuel mixture, and once I saved up and got one of the first very expensive IR temp guns you then had conformation of color changes the plug was telling you.

Between the two it gave me definitive proof of how poor the idle fuel distribution was in the lower Plenum runners of the iron AFB intakes.

Very neat and interesting. Wouldn't mind acquiring one myself one day
