Default Where do I source the material for a 66 LeMans dash pad cover?

My original dash pad cover has a few small cracks. I would like to recover the pad with ORIGINAL looking material/vinyl. Any idea where I could get this and what they call this product. Thanks.

I think you'll be hard-pressed to find/match the heat-molded tight pebbly grain OE vinyl with any sheet vinyl goods.
Most I've seen are long grain, That said you just have to find one you like.
I did my first '66 with soft black vinyl and loved the way it looked.
But that was a lifetime ago

I think that I've heard it referred to as "Madrid" pattern. I take it the vinyl that you used had a fabric back.

On a scale of 1-10 how hard was it for you

Thumbs up

Yes, it was a thin cloth-backed sheet good, Very "stretchable" which made the process rather simple.
I had the pad on the bench, with a few relief slits and was able to roll it around the contours of the pad.
Being thin also helped to get the pad back into place with little effort.

Jeff ... jeez would have loved to see a thread on that process. Did you glue it down to the existing dash pad vinyl?

Not sure what kind of alignment challenges a '66 might have, but I guess there dash caps and there are Dash Caps.

I did this one on my '71 and found the fit so good, I can't imagine anything short of a new pad being better. The only place you discern it is a cap is at the very bottom edge at the back under the dash where the flange of my original peaks out.

My dash had been covered once and a very nice job done but eventually the core at the edge facing the windshield curls and the vinyl becomes slack and puckers.

On mine, I pulled off the covering (glued to the original pad) and removed the adhesive used with lacquer thinner. I used flexible body filler to re-level all the splits and test fitted the cap. I trimmed/beveled edged the curled sections of the original pad back until the lip on the underside cap fit tightly to the metal dash top, prepped with denatured alcohol and adhered the cap per the instructions. The feel and texture of the cap were very similar to the OEM vinyl down to having a bit of "soft-touch" when pressed down.

The curling
