Default Can anybody give me any info on this magneto? Military?

Can anybody give me any info regarding this magneto? I bought it at an auction recently just because it was unique. It looks like it may have been used on something for the military. I know Fairbanks-Morse does supply parts for military equipment. It has "TE 3719" in white letters on the front. It is a Fairbanks-Morse XE1B88B. The pulley has "18108" stamped on it. I haven't been able to find any others quite like it. The similar ones I have found have gears to drive them instead of a pulley.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Perhaps it's merely a "dynamo" (generator or alternator)? A magneto with pulley drive would be useless.

I'm thinking it's a generator. But just guessing. Surely not a magneto. As already stated, magneto wouldn't have a v-belt drive.

Maybe someone changed the pulley on it? For something that just needed random spark generation? Industrial equipment to drive a strobe?

Listed under "Non-aircraft engine electrical system components" / magnetos

It has to be a secondary thing, because there is no way that a V belt would be able to time a magneto with compression strokes on an ICE engine. It would be firing at undetermined times.

It may still be firing impulses of high voltage electricity, but it's not running an ignition system for an engine. Possibly a high voltage lighting system?

I remember the early snow mobiles, at idle the lights would flicker, and at speed it would appear on constantly.

Got me stumped on this one.

It kinda reminds me of the flame spark generator used on the portable aircraft ground support heaters.

Looks like a magneto for old farm tractor.

I'll have to check that out. Seems possible as the link dataway posted above for the number painted on it is aerospace related.
Thanks
