yea and several years had passed between the time i got the first one and when i bought the one from you. (that car is really beautiful now). i wish i had bought more of them back then, i just wasnt that into gto's like i was the trans ams. there was a 69 vedero green judge convert one owner that sold new here in tulsa, that i took a friend of mine and let him buy it for 1300.00 and we drove it home. it was totally original even still had the spring on the hood tach wire attached. after he passed away steve ames bought it and then last i heard gary cave owned it.

I think I may have the 1986 Tradin' Times that had 2 of them (One from Toledo, One From Dayton).
A 1970 Silver with red interior for $3750.00, and a 1969 for $3500.00. I bought the '69 in Toledo ![]() |

I guess those ads prove I'm a "hobby guy" not a "know when to buy it right guy".

thanks for the post brought back memories for me, I was just trying to find my original ad in which I bought my 69 CR judge from. I bought it Feb 15 1998, ad was in the special interest bargain news ct, car was in LI. I came very close to buying a very nice green 69 Nova SS L78, he had a 427 motor in it but the original block came with it. I checked it out 1 weekend agreed on a price told him I would be back the following week, brought a 10k bank check and some cash, and he told me he couldnt do a bank check, cash only never told me this ahead of time. So told him I would be back with cash sometime the following week, called to confirm the date and time, and the guy decides to change the price on me, so I told him then deals off not interested anymore, I paid for a flatbed and this guys time the 1st time I was going to pick it up. So stumbled across a ad for a beautiful ca 69 gto judge, not knowing a whole lot about them, just knew it was rare and I was determined to get my 1st muscle car, I checked it out took a test drive, gave him a $100 deposit, went to the local book store read everything I could about Judges and drivetrain #'s, came back the following week paid the rest in full. Lucked out and got a nice car.

Great thread. It is intereting that the RA1V car in the ad MikeNoun posted had already had the roundport motor "factory rebuilt" after only 26,000 miles! That one was driven hard - likely had an SR block in it already.
I'm like Mike (Judge273) - got to the party way too late to get in on the great prices back in the day. Another good reason to invent a time machine! BJ

I may still have the Hemmings ad for the RAIV Judge convertible that I purchased in Lancaster, CA around 1985. Asking price was $5,000--which I paid. It was worth every penny, lol:

Wow, a 4 speed RA IV Silver Judge vert for $5,000.00. I did see it once before the restoration in a warm Wisco spot as it was pretty complete.
Todays value 250K plus??

I don't have the ad but I remember how it read in the Syracuse swap sheet -1970 Judge RAIV red with red interior 4 speed $2800 ,that was fall of 78 . Short race down the interstate to Syracuse and I was bringing home my first RAIV car and its still here .
