3 Lincoln Mark VIII/3 Thunderbird LX Electric Fans
I have 3 Lincoln Mark VIII and 3 Thunderbird LX fans. These are great 18" electric fans that flow over 4000 cfm. the Lincoln fans are variable speed and require a variable speed controller and the thunderbird fans are 2 speed. They are popular with people wanting to switch to an electric fan but not wanting to pay aftermarket prices, I'm putting one in my 76 Trans Am. They all have pig tails for easy wiring and I've ensured they all work. $80 each.

For what its worth.... i run a Lincoln VIII Fan on my 10.5:1cr 455 that make somewhere around 450HP , I drive to the track .... rip off 12.2 - 12.3 runs all day and drive it home.. never overheats, lopes away in traffic without heating up and this is with a oem copper/brass 4row rad. The MK VIII fans are Great units!
Also gets rid of that WHOOSHHH sound that the flex fans give off...LOL Beebe

Is there a "how to" on these fans anywhere? Anything that spells out how to get one on and working? Like how do I wire a variable speed controller?

this is one way http://www.jegs.com/i/Flex-a-lite/40...oductId=752453
I don't run a variable speed. I use an adjustable temp switch to come on at 195 and turn off at 175. I also run a manual over ride toggle switch just in case Kevin |

Electric Fans
I am very interested. Any way to get a pic or two next to a yard stick or tape measure? I want one for my S-10 crew cab 4x4. You can send info to: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

Sorry about the late replies. The Thunderbird fans are off 2 96's and a 97 but all have the same part number. The Mark VIII fans are identical in every way to the Thunderbird fans except the Thunderbird motor is 2 speed instead of variable. To use the Mark VIII fan on anything other than high, you need a controller that will vary the voltage to the fan to control speed. All the fans have a three plug connector male connector but center pin on the Mark VIII serves no function, where as on the Thunderbird fan the center pin turns on low speed. The information I have found online states that on high both the Mark VIII and Thunderbird fans will pull at least 4000 CFM, the thunderbird fans turn a higher rpm to do so. I will post pictures with measurements shortly.

Attached is a picture of the fan with measurements. It's also 6.25" deep.
