i was attempting to loosen the bolts that hold the front of the leafspring and they just started turning without looseing i have the feeling that those bolts were like caged nuts and now im screwed. Any thoughts or comments on this ?

Yes they are caged nuts and can be a pain whern they break off. Need to get a pari of spring to be sure they are the same. Eaton makes replacement springs.

I had those caged nits turn on me when I did my rear springs too, I just drilled them out or ground the heads off, can't remember which. I used springs from Pro-touring F-Body and the ride height is perfect from day one, handles great too. I would definitely replace both though.

so all the bolts on the front leaf spring bracket are loose or the heads are cut off of them (3 ) but the spring doesnt move up front should it just fall after removing the 3 bolts or are there tabs holding it on ? i can move the bracket a little with a screwdriver but it seems solid still ?

I did this a few years ago, so I am going off of memory, which is not that good. But I think I remember having to drop the back of the spring down to get the front out, like there where tabs holding it in on the front brackets. I had to pull the gas tank down to get the rear bolts out, that is not that bad a job if you dont have alot of gas in it.
