Default Repro dash actually received

Looks to be excellent in quality and accuracy. Not sure how it will install, but I think they've taken more than enough time to ensure a good fit, eh?
There's an "A-OK" inspection written in chalk, so that keeps me optimistic...
Grain appears to be 70-72 ? maybe 73? Or maybe somewhere in between.

WOW!!
I never thought I would see the day.
Is it "pliable" material, or hard?

Holy smokes. Monkeys must be flying backwards somewhere...

Is the radio opening the 70 - 77 style (looks like it...)?

Looks like early style to me. The grain pattern needs to be truly identified. What was the cost?

Pigs can fly!

Was this one of the ones being sold on eBay recently or through Classic Industries?

I saw the dash actually listed on ebay. The seller was saccrestorations.net. - a small supplier in Sacramento area.
I figured it was one of those pre-sale dashes you see listed. The last day of the auction the seller told me they do have one in stock. I braced myself for a bidding war; however, in the end only 3 people bid? I had very low expectations to say the least.

The vinyl is soft and pliable just like original. Grain appears to be closer to early years.
According to the seller, these will be only molded in black. The radio hole is set up for the earlier years.

The good news is the soft vinyl is porous and should take well to dye. More good news is OER may actually be inspecting the dashes for fit and quality. (see "A-OK" chalk scrawl in pic) You think 14 years is enough to get it right??

Just dashes now wants $1250 for a black dash redo. Historically, I've had had fit issues with their dashes. With that, for a third of the price, I'll MAKE this repro dash fit.

GREGG, Im sure we here will value YOUR pics and actual hands on "fitting" info, vs the >OER< "inspections< as OER, in my experience, is sub standard in many applications..
If that fits PY should be stocking a few, Im sure they will sell. Dash replacement is a good winter project, for those of us who actually have a winter!! :P

Aside from the TAIL Panel, this is the Biggest news in Firebirds in a VERY long time... only $399.00 !!!

Yup, agreed OER stuff does have fit issues. The caveat with the dash is there are no returns if installed (or attempted). Holes will have to be drilled out after alignment with original. I am about 6-9 months out on my install.
The fit on Just Dashes re-dos have caused me some real trouble in the past. No doubt some tweaking will be necessary with the repro as well. I'm ready for the battle though.

I was told the dashes were only trickling out and there's still no solid ETA. It may be a hurry up and wait situation.

Can somebody post pics of the grain pattern circa early '70s as well as the mid-late '70s? I've heard the pattern changed, but by how much? I'm curious now.

Actually, they are based in southern California between LA and San Diego it looks like.

Yes I hear they are 'trickling' out. Wondering how radio/ash tray dimensions will work for early and late model 2nd gen apps.

At that price I'd be interested in 3 pads if they fit properly......
