I'm really not surprised with your KRE problem. I have had similar issues with them. So has my buddy. If they are too busy to put any time into the small dollar transactions then they need to hire someone to pick up that aspect of their business. Neither me or my buddy has dealt with them since. Can't and won't tie my money up with them again. Don't trust them any more. Larry
PS: I would not just send the timing cover back to them without additional communication. You may be a long time getting a refund. Larry |

I bought a set of his 300 cfm heads fully loaded, and the valves didn't seat properly on either head. He had at least one head twice and couldn't get it right. I paid a local shop to correct their work, and Kauffman refused to cover any of my additional costs.

Thanks for your input Larry & Mike. Sorry to hear about your troubles too.
I think I’m just going to hold onto the timing cover at this point and mill it into useable condition once I get everything set up again in our new place. I’ll still grab some measurements of it vs an old stock cover when I get a chance. Pretty interesting it could slip through the way it looks. The Pioneer branded cover really is a quality looking piece for the price. Thanks. |

FWIW, anyone that wants to buy the Pioneer cover, the pricing online is all over the map. I did a little research, and the best price I found was on CARiD, com, $114.06, including shipping.
Link: https://www.carid.com/pioneer-automo...pn-500455.html Some sites were as high as $235, and other that had a cheap price wanted $20 for shipping, and handling. $114.06 is really reasonable, IMO. |

You’re doing the right thing- I wouldn’t send it back without an RA number either as it may get lost- then You’re out the money and the part.

I really can’t fault the Pioneer. Measurements with my dial indicator were nearly spot on with the factory cover and the timing indicator tab was perfect too. If I couldn’t find a decent factory cover in the future I’d definitely go this route again. |
