Not every day you see a car and airplane in a accident.

Thanks for posting.

I'd like to hear the back story to that. Drunk airman late for his flight?

Neat picture and thanks for the link describing it. I have already shared it on another site.

The sign should have been taken down, USAF already had dibs on it.

I wonder if the Air Force repaired the car. It was their fault.

It sounds as if the owner died of head injuries. Maybe the family got some compensation.

Probably no connection but I have read a lot of true crime in my life and that name jumped out at me immediately.... Probably a pretty common name in that part of the country and the gangster was actually from Chicago but it just jumped out at me as an infamous name...

last year, a small private plane ran out of gas just short of the runway. It landed fairly well on the road near my work, then rearended a BMW. I'd have paid good money to see the crash report and the insurance claim. "So, yeah, my SUV got hit by a Cessna...."

The newspaper article gave a really in-depth account of the crash.
That had to be some very unbelievable/unforgettable moments to anyone who witnessed that from start to finish.

Its very sad the man lost his life.

He was probably going to sell the 54 Pontiac to get a new 59 TriPower Bonneville

Just last night a small aircraft landed on Interstate 35 in Minneapolis. It did hit one car, but no injuries were reported. The landing was caught on a traffic camera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QozV-xhrWLc It turns out that the pilot represented the United States in international competition in 2017 and 2019 on the Unlimited Aerobatic Team, which took home the bronze medal at the world championships in South Africa in 2017. If you have to get hit by a plane when driving your car, he's probably the guy you'd want to choose.
