Default 1971 455 HO engine parts for sale

1971 455 HO, Is your 71 GTO or F body missing it’s 455 HO this is the answer to your problem and if your Norwood built F BODY Vin ends in 123409 this is your lucky day (YE code ) 191 cylinder heads, OEM aluminum intake and stock 455 cast crank .
The block and heads were sent to my engine shop and were cleaned, magged and a hone was run through the cylinders and they are cleaned up at 0.015” overbore ready for fitting the pistons of your choice. The heads are completely stock, not molested in any way. The intake is the OEM winters piece, NOT one of those repops that there is some negative chatter about.
That is all the parts I have for this engine
$6000US DOLLARS

Default Block Stamp

Just thought I’d send a close up of the engine code stamping, to verify this is a REAL 455 HO no issues, no stories, no doubt, just the real deal
I am in Nova Scotia Canada, 902-499-5630. I have access to a loading dock at my business, so palletizing the block, heads and intake is not a problem, and I’d probably box up the crank and strap it the pallet or if you wanted I could have crank cut 0.010” and install it in the block, machining, bearings and rear seal would be extra. Also we could do a full build for you up to and including dyno testing if that was something you were interested in

Default Full build example

This an SD 455 I did for a customer last year, nothing exotic, just a high quality built , no porting of the heads,, with a stock quadrajet, ( 72 455 ho intake) and exhaust manifolds. Just wanted to give you feeling for what we can do for you if you were interested. Thanks for the interest.

The dyno sheet for the SD455 or the 455HO?

Looks nice though.

Default Dyno Sheet

I posted the dyno sheet and the photo of the SD 455 to illustrate our full build and testing experience. The HO has never been assembled since I purchased it 40+ years ago, I had intended a build on it when I found a complete SD for sale locally and used that in my 72 GTO instead, but the SD was sold to a client last year. Downsizing my collection of stuff that I doubt I’ll use and hopefully it’s exactly what someone needs
Cheers

You said "if your Norwood built F-body" How do you know this came from a Norwood car and a Fbody? I don't understand all the #s on pontiac blocks and am confused.

Happy to explain: late sixties/early seventies had two important sets of stamping on each V8 block, just below the deck surface on the face of the block on the passenger side is the engine unit number and then the all important code, a two letter corresponding to original rating, denoting, displacement, horsepower and transmission. So this block a YE code corresponds to a 455 HO 335 HP for use with an automatic transmission
Then on the face of the block near timing cover on the passenger side is stamped vertically a nine character alphanumeric stamping and in my case this is 21n123409, so that’s means 2= Pontiac, 1=1971, N= Norwood Ohio plant and 123409 is the last 6 digits of the VIN, and since 455 HO only was available in A bodies( lemans/gto and F body firebird) now since no A bodies were built in Norwood this had to be from an F body
The engine unit number will also be shown on Pontiac historical documents if you were to order them. The 5 digit stamping by the 21N1234509 is a job number from my machine shop where I had the block cleaned, magged and bores cleaned up at 0.015” earlier this year

Thanks for the answer. Your first post didn't have the picture of the vin so I wasn't sure how you decoded it. Good luck with your sale. Very decent parts.
