Default What's it worth, BOP trans edition.

I just had a 4l80e built for my bird, so the current trans and converter are coming out and being sold.

I have kind of an idea on the converter, but I have no idea what the transmission is even worth.

It's a BOP TH400 long tail. PB coded. I know at minimum it has a shift kit installed and by the way it acts dropping into reverse or drive, it may have the wave plate omitted.

The trans is in good operation without any slip, noises etc. It had a minor service with a new filter and pan/yoke seals last year. No sign of abnormal wear on the friction material and the fluid was still in good condition, so we opted not to tear it open further.

Converter is a TSP tight 9.5" setup for a 3000 rpm stall behind your typical street 455. That was installed in the spring of 2021, at the same time the trans had the minor service.

Am I crazy to think that I should list this package for around $900-1000? I see rebuilt TH400's going in the $1400-1600 range and the new TSP units are right at $700.00.

Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks!

I can't say for sure, but I sold a 1973 GTO 400 turbo for $200 as a good tranny I got with a car I bought. I had no history so I guess you could just say it was a good core.
