the heads d141. it is pontaic 350. i greatly appericate any help! |

pontfan, Good for what? A street engine on pump gas? Probably, if your happy with a 350. By the numbers you gave, assuming that the heads are original to the block, it should be a 250hp, 2bbl, auto transmission engine from an "A" body. The number you gave for the heads was the date code (April 14, '71) and they should have a 94 cast on top of the center exhaust ports. They were rated at 8:1 on the 350.

thank you. the engine has been rebuilt its at a machine shop a new owner bought the place and it was already there, rebuilt. i was getting prices on getting my 389 rebuilt when he told me about it. he wants a ddeposit on the 350 before he will take it apart and check the specks on it and types of parts. i am putting an engine in my 85 cutlass supreme. i have a 400 trans and already have a new edelbrock 600cfm carb and preformer intake. im tring to deciede what to do. he wants 1100$ for the 350 long block. or 400$ deposit before he will check it. thank you any help orsugestions will be appericated.

That engine in a Cutlass would probably be ok for a daily driver, but with a TH350, in an Astre, Sunbird, or a T-1000, would be a killer street machine!
