Default Hunting for a '74 SD T/A or Formula

Must be an automatic with A/C. No rot and no projects!

If a Formula - I'd prefer posi, Formula wheel and gauges w/ tach.

I also prefer the standard interior over the Deluxe.

Colors and other options are not as important as #'s matching and unmolested. Survivor cars are a plus.

I'm looking to trade my Sundance Orange, #'s match except carb (has an NOS 7042270 automatic carb on it), '72 455HO M22 A/C GTO for the SD car. Most of you here have either seen my GTO or know of it. It was restored in the mid 90's and has been driven little since the restoration. I purchased the car in May, 2006 from the third owner, Mr. Phil Ponder in MD. The car was purchased new in MD by Mr. Skip Barooby. I have many original documents that will go with the car. It won a points judging Silver Award at the 2007 POCI Convention in Tulsa, was also featured in the November, 2007 issue of HPP magazine.

Thanks!

Lloyd:

I was going to trade you straight up for mine until I read that you wanted an auto with A/C. LOL

Sounds like somebody is getting old or it's not for you.

Why would you want a 74 when the early cars are so much better looking? LOL

Ooooh baby! Check out those Rally II's sans trim rings. Could have been yours!

Bob, you're SUCH a tease, LOL! Yep - gettin' older, and I've always preferred an automtic anyway.

Your '74 is gorgeous sans trim rings! I'm a big fan of '74's and '75's. I'd love to own a '73, but that's simply not in the budget I'm afraid!

Here are a few pics I snapped while Randy Allen was shooting the car for the HPP feature.

Contact me at bell-auto@comcast.net for pics and docs, or call me @ (713) 825-7721.

Thanks again.

.......and while Randy was in town, he could have also done a real nice "1 of 1" '73 SD.

Hey Lloyd, why not just sell the GTO? Trades are most likely gonna be few and far between.

Yeah, I know Larry.

It's just that I'd hate to sell the GTO and then not be able to find a suitable SD car. I'd have to sell the GTO first because I don't have the cash to purchase the SD first.

Anyway, gonna try this for a while, then move on.

Here's a rather poor scan of the PHS invoice, plus the window sticker and the Pontiac plant build "manifest" for my GTO.

I don't think you'll be "without" for very long. Seems there's always a auto, a/c car that turns up.

That's true, Larry.

Anyone viewing this thread - I'll listen to non-trade deals as well. Anything that's close to the criteria I set out in post #1 will interest me.

Thanks again.

Now is definitely a time to buy a car.

However, not sure now is the time to sell one, if you're shooting for top dollar.

I have a '74 that I'll sell at some point, but the next 6-12 months just don't look good for muscle cars.

This economic situation looks to be getting worse, before it gets better. With the Big 3 teetering on bankruptcy, Obama/Congress raising taxes, financial markets still frozen, etc... Hard to see demand for our cars picking up.

I do agree with others, that a trade will be hard to do. But, give it a shot!

Mark

Lloyd, if your search area includes Japan check this one out, it's for sale and no extra charge for the bolt on Oreilly's brake/marker lights!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K662VoQ7Dwg

actually a nice color combo other than the unicolor bumpers, the weird video and music are rated PG-13

Weird!

Nice enough car I suppose, after repainting the bumpers and getting rid of those lights.

Lloyd,

Once you've "secured" the car, share some details like color combo, auto/manual, etc...

You can bet on that, LOL!

Just gotta get my GTO sold, then it's a done deal.

The SD seller is being a true friend by being patient with me, but can only hold the car for so long.
