Default Chrome paint markers

I saw this subject come up in another thread, and don’t want to whore up that thread.
I see there are a few brands to choose from. What did you guys use or recommend? A few examples I found. Thanks

Following. The one I got from Parts Place is just silver metallic Rustolium in a pen. I did see a post somewhere where some fellas had found an actual chrome looking paint. But I lost track. So, I’m following. Would like to know.

I’d also like to know if it would hold up on exterior. The chrome around my ‘71 GTO tail lights was pretty much gone when I got it back in ‘07. I don’t even know if this was around then, but I used the shiniest silver paint I could find. Well, that’s yellowed a lot in the last 15 years!
I wasn’t kidding about the LeMans dash.

Thanks guys. I just ordered a set of the Moloto pens.
Anyway, I looked up on the Moloto website how to clean the surface for prep. No info that I could find. I figured I’d just clean with rubbing alcohol to degrease the area. What did you guys use?

I just use rubbing alcohol to prep area. Those markers work very well, and the "chrome" holds up.

Thanks for the reply. That’s what I ended up doing. I did a small section of the LeMans dash last week just to test them out. Looks a lot better then the Testors paint I used in the past.

I haven’t seen a chrome yet, it’s silver. There’s a diff.

Burd, You need to check out the Molotow pens that the other guys recommend. It is more of a true chrome than your silver Testors.

It is almost exactly the same appearance as OEM GM if applied according to directions...

Will have to try it the next time I touch up a dash. The pens from the parts place and others don't look chrome all.

Scale model builders have been using these Molotow pens for years. Great option to chrome foil.

It’s silver, not chrome. People must have stuff that people penned years ago , and that re touching up
