Default Driveshaft Jail

So the car is very close to being done. Just waiting on the driveshaft. It's being done locally so at least no shipping time involved.

PS pump fit was a problem with the IAII. The line that goes to the back of the pump wouldn't fit due to the extra 1" or so of block sticking out there. Had to have a custom fitting made for a side port instead of back.

If i'm lucky, I might have it in a week or so.

Anyway, clock is ticking and weather change is coming so I hope I can get it out a little to try and do whatever debugging is required and see how it feels. I guess much of that may have to wait until spring.

I'm all about supporting a local business whenever possible but Strange had one on my doorstep in one week.

I actually tried to get a good pic of it today but failed. I'll be there again tomorrow and I'll try to get a good picture of it. If not tomorrow, I'll be able to do it long before you need it.

Yeah, I like the sound of the cam. Nothing excessive but you can hear it. Still has good vacuum and the motor is pretty still. Of course, I do have the new Butler poly mounts so that reduces movement quite a bit.

Here's the best pic I could get with it in the car. Basically, he had a AN fitting made and welded it to the inlet on the back of the pump with a side opening where he attached the modified hose.

I forgot that he also had to countersink one of the mounting bolts. Don't remember which one.

Turns out we are having a motor alignment issue so the motor will have to come out, Wouldn't matter except for the shaker so has to be done. That's gonna cost me at least a couple days, more if they have to redo the drive shaft. It's always something.

Anyway, when the pump is off the motor I can get some better pics.

Why might your driveshaft need to be redone?

Problem with engine placement with the new mounts. Needs to come forward about 1 inch which may leave the DS too short.
