1959 Pontiac-Chevrolet Interchange
My 59 needs trunk and floor pans. Are the ones listed for Chevrolets interchangeable with the 59 Catalina? Are they partially interchangeable?

Pretty sure the floor pans are the same. Could maybe (?) use Chevy trunk pan w mods. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

As I remember Tom, 58,59, and 60 Pontiacs also have X frames, 61 went to a swept hip perimeter frame.
However the X frames that Pontiac used, and the X frames that chevy used were not close appearing to each other. I spent a lot of time under both chevys and Pontiacs back in the day, and from memory they were not close in appearance to each other. The trunk floors could be similar, but I seriously doubt they interchange. |

Pontiac had the x frame thru 1960. The 59/60 Chev & Pontiac floorpans are the same regardless. Doesn't really matter, just go on the Ames sight and get your 59/60 Pontiac floorplans. They're listed in their catalog.

Yeah, I guess I forgot about the floor pans. They don't list a trunk pan do they? Ice seen some on eBay, but the ones I've seen listed for Chevies look like they cover more area.

We used 60 Chevy floor and trunk pans on my 60 Bonneville convertible.
The shop made it work and no one knew.

Yes, as stated above. Use the 1960 Chevy pans. 1959 Chevys had a spare tire well on the right side. They don't quite reach the trunk drop-offs so a little patch will be needed. Remember, Pontiacs were wider than Chevys. Save your old bracket for the spare tire hold down hook. It didn't come with the pans I used about 10-12 years ago......John
