Default 61-62 Temest transaxle pan tube leak

Any tips on sealing up the pan tube? Mine only leaks from this area.

Where the tube filler meets the pan I mean. It's leaking from there. On my '62 two-speed auto.

Default Tube leak

Hey Chris, The dipstick/filler tube is a compression fitting basically like a large brake line. Tightening down the nut should seal it unless there is some sort of damage to the tube or pan. Try to snug it a little tighter. If it still leaks you could remove the tube to check mating surfaces. Greg

That is very helpful,, thanks Greg. I suppose this should be written in the shop manual but I didn't find it. Will tighten more, and see if that helps. A nut this size can probably take 45-50ft/lbs.
